Select three places/activities that would qualify for your "do something" day. Remember, all group mates are involved and this has to be captured on camera, video, and/or audio because it's going up on your website. Keep in mind two different components:
1. An awareness component that shows you interviewed someone knowledgeable about your cause (or someone personally connected).
2. An action component that shows you took some time to "do something" for your cause.
You have lots of options within those boundaries; I'm happy to brainstorm with you.
Contacts: Once you figure out 3 "do somethings," it's time to get contact information. Who would you contact to set this up and make it happen?
Letter/phone call: Write a draft of what you're going to say to the person you contact. This is just a draft; you might end up just talking on the phone, but you should still have this draft in front of you when you call. Here's what the draft should include:
Introduce yourself
Explanation of your project (mention awareness component and action component)
Reason for contacting him/her
Request specific time and place to carry out "do something." You want to do it this week or weekend.
Provide Mr. Morgan's name and number 847-509-2483
Find out any questions and promise to get back to them in 24hrs.
Thank them for their time.
After initial contact: Inform me about any questions, about decisions made, and about the next step of action. You can send me an email.
